Norm's Other Honey
Products

Norm can provide you with pure, local, raw honey. His honey is untouched by human hands. It is removed from the hives while in the frames, uncapped from the comb with a knife, spun out of the comb using centrifugal force, filtered through cloth to avoid wax particles, and bottled. It is not pasteurized (heat treated) or tampered with in any way. It is exactly as the bees have been making it for millions of years.
What is the difference between Norm’s Other Honey and honey found in the supermarket or health food stores?
The most important difference is that Norm’s honey is 100% pure, unfiltered, non-pasteurized, unheated, untreated, raw honey. Nothing is added or taken away; it is honey exactly as the bees intended it to be. Honey that is purchased in the supermarket is always heat treated to allow for better consistency and to help prevent crystallization. It is also very common (though unethical) for commercial honey to be thinned out with molasses or corn syrup. As for the honey found in health food stores: very often one is buying a quality product, but just as often, one is buying honey that is bottled under a local label, but with honey that was purchased in bulk from a supplier. That honey, bearing a local label, may have come from thousands of miles away, and/or may have been subjugated to harsh chemicals or pesticides. Or simply it may just be from another area of the country, which is not as advantageous as local honey in fighting allergies.
Norm figures that he cannot improve upon what the bees have been doing for millions of years, so he bottles his bees’ honey as they made it, nothing more and nothing less, from hives located right here in Fairfield and Westchester Counties.
I want to buy some of Norm’s Other Honey! How can I get my hands on some?
Even though Norm has been working with the bees for nearly two decades, his web site is new, and so for now, the best way to get honey is to e-mail Norm at beekeeperc@aol.com and let him know what you want. (Later, we will add Pay-Pal, etc. for easier ordering. But Norm’s Other Honey is a small family-run business and basically is a one-man show, so we do not usually handle huge orders.) So, e-mail Norm and tell him what you need, and he will respond to you right away and let you know about special pricing and shipping costs. If you are in the area, you are welcome to pick up the honey right at the apiary. Or if you live near one of Norm’s regular routes, he will drop off your order at no extra charge.
How much is this liquid gold, this nectar of the Gods?
Right now, Norm’s Other Honey sells for $5.50 per pound, which is about what you would find lesser quality honey in the supermarkets costs, a competitive price for specialty stores, and much better than local farmer’s markets. Norm can provide containers from 1/2lb and upward. Discounts are available for larger containers.
Norm’s bees provide him with a good amount of pollen. Bee pollen is the primary food used by the honeybee hive. It is created through a natural process involving organic enzymes, manufactured by the honeybee’s body, and mixed with the pollen from plants. Norm knows it is healthy and consuming it regularly is a good way to stay in good health, but for specific medical information you should ask your doctor or do your own research. That said, many athletes have used bee pollen as a supplement; in fact, some athletes actually associate their success with the use of bee pollen, which they say; increases their stamina and energy. In addition, analysis of bee pollen has shown that it is one of the most nutritious natural substances on earth, some calling it the richest and most complete food in nature. Pollen has the capacity to regulate the function of the intestine and to destroy harmful microbes. Scientists have observed its effectiveness in destroying harmful intestinal bacteria, especially E. Coli, without harming the natural friendly bacteria essential to good health. At the very least, bee pollen is a healthy and natural supplement. If you would like some, e-mail Norm at beekeeperc@aol.com for pricing.
